Book Wish Foundation Seeking Board Members

Do you want to help the world’s neediest read? If so, you might be a candidate for the Board of Directors of the Book Wish Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Reston, Virginia, USA, with a mission to provide reading relief for people in crisis. Book Wish is expanding its Board to meet increasing requests for its help in troubled places around the world.

Candidates should have expertise in a subject related to reading or vulnerable populations, such as libraries, literacy, vision care, solar lighting, education, refugees, women’s rights, or extreme poverty. They must be willing to promote Book Wish’s mission and advocate for the educational, mental health, and occupational benefits of reading for people in long-term crisis situations. Attendance at an annual board meeting is required, but can be accomplished by phone. Commitment of at least one year is desired.
